Mechanic Certification Vetting Requirements
This program was introduced so that those with prior knowledge have a fast track option to become certified at a nationally recognized and accepted level.  Certification is contingent upon the following minimum requirements and completion of the online assessment.  For PBMA Mechanic Members, there is no charge to complete this process.

Level 1 - Minimum Requirements
• 2-years full time employment as a bicycle mechanic
• Completion of at least one manufacturer trainings 
​• Provide a complete professional resume

Level 2 - Minimum Requirements
• 5-years full time employment as a bicycle mechanic
• Completion of at least three manufacturer trainings
​• Provide a complete professional resume
Becoming certified via the vetting process results in a one-year certification.  To remain current you must complete 20 hours of approved continuing education.  At the end of your first certified year, having met the continuing education requirement you will be placed on a two-year certification cycle.
